Job Description

HYBRID position at Edmonton, Alberta

Must haves:

Proposed resource must meet or exceed one of the following:

•University graduation: Computer Science(CS), Computer Engineering (CE), Information Technology (IT) or related discipline & 4yr related experience;
•2yr diploma: CS, CE, IT or related discipline & 6yr related experience;
•1yr certificate: CS, CE, IT or related discipline & 7yr related experience;
•current active professional certification or accreditation in related discipline from a recognized issuing body & 7yr related experience.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to interact professionally with a diverse group.
Ability to manage stress and conflict.
The ability to establish and maintain working relationships with team members, management and vendors.
The ability to learn quickly, problem solve/troubleshoot, work independently and in a team.

At least 8 years:

Experience designing, planning, implementing and supporting infrastructure and application solutions in an architecture capacity for an environment equivalent in size and complexity to the Government of Alberta.
Experience developing on cloud platforms and utilizing cloud services in development and in solutions.
Experience in IT infrastructure architecture and the relationships among the components that make up an IT service from end-user devices to servers, networks, storage, applications and data.
Experience supporting an enterprise IT environment.
Experience working directly on site with end user troubleshooting technical computer related issues including software and hardware.
Direct involvement in developing best-practices documentation (for example, operational procedures, network diagrams, etc.).
Experience assisting clients to execute strategies with technology, process, organizational design and IT operations.
Experience in completion of migration of applications and other technologies from one environment to another. E.G. Moves between data centers, moves to different platforms, moves to the cloud from on-premise installations
Experience in defining technical architecture, building technical environments, supporting software development processes and initiatives, software configuration and database management.
Experience leading an organization through a large scale technology change impacting all levels of the organization.
Experience using MS Office 2010 products or higher versions.
Experience working in or for the public sector.
