ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY 

Methanex currently has an exciting career opportunity for an Administrative Assistant, Responsible Care to join our team in Medicine Hat for a temporary term with an anticipated start date of June 2019 through to September 2020. 

In this role, you will be responsible for providing administrative support to all personnel in the department by managing numerous competing priorities with superior business acumen and advanced communication, computer, planning, and organizational skills.

The role is also responsible for various Responsible Care processes including a training matrix and database, behavioural based safety data entry, monthly key performance indicators, and quarterly reporting.

Our successful candidate will possess:

  • Post-secondary diploma in administrative office management or a related technical discipline preferred, supplemented by a minimum of 2-3 years of previous administrative experience
  • Previous experience maintaining documents in an industrial environment an asset
  • Formal training and/or advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office suite of programs, particularly Word, Excel, Outlook and Power Point, as well as web-based applications

Other combinations of education, training and experience may be considered based on significant related experience in a relevant industrial setting.

This role is well suited to a customer-focused professional who is dedicated to meeting the expectations of internal and external customers and has superior interpersonal skills, including a strong ability to develop and maintain positive relationships with a variety of stakeholders
