Position Overview: Reporting to the Application Lead the Applications Analyst plays a key role in business processes and application design. This role will align strategic goals and objectives with decisions regarding products and services; partners and suppliers, organization, capabilities, and key business and IT initiatives. The primary focus for this person's work includes the analysis of business motivations and business operations. Will recommend solutions to Global business leaders based on interpreted findings of the analyzed business processes.

Job Description:
Major Job Functions:
  • Interact with business clients, analyze business requirements and recommend solutions that will have a measurable impact on the profitability or effectiveness of the organization
  • Lead the gathering and documenting the detailed business requirements from a broad community of stakeholders
  • Identify the business objectives, strategies and needs and produce high-level and detailed business models supported by business cases for an IT business initiative to be implemented while taking into account the implications of this change on the organization and all stakeholders
  • Analyze the current state of innovation, product development and operating model, including organizational structures, business processes, systems, information and data to propose technology solutions to improve the effectiveness of the business areas and the services that the company provides to out costumers
  • Ongoing interaction with the Business Team to acquire understanding and clarification of business processes and requirements
  • Participate in system implementation projects (requirements documentation, systems configuration, test documentation/execution, issue identification and resolution)
  • Provide status reports and ensure escalation of issues as necessary
  • Ensure presentation of information is professional, timely and accurate
  • Responsible for compliance with activities and controls required by Finning's Change Management policies & procedures within scope
  • Ensure that imperative specification and support documentation are understood by the reviewers, approvers and users of the material
  • Ensure that risks uncovered as part of the incident and problem management processes, within scope, are communicated and mitigated in a timely manner
  • Represent the company in a professional and ethical manner and maintain effective relationships with internal departments and staff while maintaining confidentiality

Specific Skills & Knowledge:

Education & Experience:
  • 7+ years of experience in business analysis and application design
  • 8 years of experience deploying PDM/PLM. Experience with the implementation of Windchill PDM/Agile PLM
  • Strong CRM experience required. Preference will be given with those that have CANAM and Uptake experience
  • Post-Secondary Diploma or Degree in a related Information Technology (IT) discipline or related experience
  • Education and/or experience related to a specific business area is required
  • Experience with Agile Development Methodology
  • Experience as a key contributor in building and enhancing enterprise-class systems through the entire lifecycle - Analyze, Design, Build, Test, Implement and
  • Formal education in specific applications, tools and languages
