Position Overview: Responsible for supporting the learning and development of Finning (Canada) apprentices through the coordination of Learning and Development programs.

Job Description:

Major Job Functions:
  • Manage the Apprenticeship Programs in assigned area, including liaison between the employees, branch contacts, the colleges and all levels of Government
  • Establish the Apprenticeship contract and provide guidance through to completion of Journeyperson status
  • Coordinate and monitor the progress of the Apprentice's technical training, working with branch managers, institutions and government. Report on work experience to the government
  • Monitor apprentice pay rates and process employee change forms to ensure that they are being paid accurately and on time
  • Responsible for travel arrangements and monitoring expenses related to travel, in accordance with the respective collective agreement
  • Coordinate apprenticeship contracts and apprenticeship technical training and other key tasks in an accurate and timely manner
  • Ensure that Apprentice pay rates are adjusted in a timely manner and in accordance with the respective collective agreement
  • Represent the company in a professional and ethical manner
  • Assist the sales internship program

  • Knowledge in related computer skills including DBS Training 2000, Sequel Viewpoint, Adobe
  • Thorough understanding of company, college and Government policies, procedures and legislation that relate to Apprenticeship programs and company initiatives
  • Researching, analyzing and explaining information and compiling information into reports
  • Familiar with Finning's collective agreements


Education & Experience:
  • 2 to 3 years related experience in a related area, such as adult education programs
