The Challenge:



We are a national wireless retailer dedicated to acquiring new clients and retaining existing ones through strong brand equity, exceptional client experience and operational excellence. The Area Manager, TELUS Stores - is responsible for executing the national TELUS Stores Program within a specified area. S/he will oversee the daily operations of her/his respective TELUS Store locations and will be accountable for:

    • Meeting sales and service objectives • Managing inventory levels and minimizing inventory shrinkage • Conducting in-store audits to measure cash and inventory controls • Coaching, training and developing TELUS Store team members • In addition, the Area Manager will assist with the execution of TELUS' overall sales, service, marketing, advertising, pricing and distribution strategies.

Responsibilities:
    • Exercises responsibility for sales, expense control, proper display of merchandise and client service • Implements corporate policy and procedure • Coordinates and directs store operation activity • Manages and monitors inventory levels • Monitors competitive activity • Conducts regular meetings to review activity, introduce new products and review sales skills • Conducts regular in-store visits to evaluate, coach and develop staff • Maximizes sales growth and profit • Reports and analyzes store performance, budget and staffing • Implementation of new locations and execution of all related tasks • Sets goals based on area sales projections • Conducts annual performance assessments for Store Managers • Recruits Store Managers and assists with Sales Representative recruitment


Qualifications:


Skills and Abilities:
    • Proven success in leading and developing people • Previous coaching and training experience • Excellent verbal and written communication skills • Able to work during retail hours of operation • Highly effective interpersonal and organizational skills • Takes initiative and is self-directed • Reliable and efficient • Demonstrated problem solving and analytical skills • Competent in the use of MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint) • Travel required • Valid driver's license and vehicle required • For positions based in Quebec bilingualism in French and English is required, otherwise bilingualism is considered to be an asset

Professional Designations/Certifications:
    • University degree or college diploma; specialization in business/management is an asset

Required Experience:
    • Minimum 2 years of retail sales experience • Minimum 2 years of retail management experience • Minimum 1 year of experience managing multiple locations or departments • Previous experience with RMS systems and inventory systems (e.g. SAP) is an asset
