We are currently recruiting for an Associate position in our Corporate Banking Energy Group in Calgary. The individual will work closely with the team managing client relationships across Canada. The Associate will be responsible for handling, or providing assistance on, all credit-related activities including: the completion of credit presentations, identifying lending and cross-sell opportunities, preparing client presentations and pitches, structuring loan transactions, negotiating documentation and monitoring compliance and industry trends.

  • Provide day to day account management support
  • Structure, analyze and perform due diligence on transactions that vary in complexity
  • Develop recommendations for the appropriate course of action
  • Expand industry and product knowledge
  • Analyze, process and execute credit requests
  • Research credit and bank product requirements of existing and prospective clients
  • Ensure credit files, agreements and security documents are complete and up to date
  • Monitor and follow for client compliance
  • Assist with the preparation of marketing pitches
  • Coordinate with various product groups within GBM
  • Develop and maintain effective industry relationships with other lenders, legal counsel, clients


Industry product expertise
  • Knowledge of lending and capital markets products and processes for execution of transactions
  • Development of an in-depth understanding of the industry

Client Solution Focus
  • Conduct due diligence
  • Succinct analysis of key risks and mitigants for existing or proposed new business and structure transaction with supervision
  • Establish concise rationale supporting actions and recommendations
  • Integrate product group material into client pitch books

  • Clear communication with clients and internal/external contacts to effectively monitor accounts
  • Assist with client relationship management and contribute to cross sell activities

  • Previous corporate banking or credit analysis experience
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Financial modeling skills and accounting knowledge
  • Excellent computer skills (Excel, Word, Power Point)
