Position: Banquet Captain
Hourly Rate: $17 an hour
Hours: Temporary and On Call
We’re recruiting for part time and casual Banquet Captain to join our Hospitality & Events Team to help create a memorable experience for our clients. As a Banquet Captain , often times you will be the primary contact between our team and the client and act as the central hub for our event Temporary Onsite Hospitality Associates. If you have solid leadership skills and love providing great customer service, we want to hear from you.

Duties and Responsibilities of the Banquet Captain:
• Oversee a team of banquet servers during events, promoting team spirit and positive relations
• Setting up and breaking down of rooms according to client specifications which include moving tables, chairs, buffets etc.
• Prepare tables, action stations, buffets, service carts, dessert table/carts and cordial carts with specified tools, wares and equipment
• Inspect the cleanliness and presentation of all china, glass and silver prior to use
• Prepares, loads and safely stores Food & Beverage items, equipment and supplies
• Establishing rapport with guests through prompt and courteous service
• Liaises with guests to ensure all requirements are met and problems dealt with in an efficient manner
• Accurately serve food and beverages to guests as per the Banquet Event Order or specific needs
• Ensures Food Safety protocol is adhered to at all times
• Ensures cleanliness of relevant areas
• Other duties as required
The ideal Banquet Captain would have the following qualifications and experience:
• Must be at least 19 years of age
• Ability to carry 3 plates and a tray
• Ability to lift up to 22 kg (48.5lbs)
• Demonstrated superior skills in customer service and organization
• Detail oriented
• Ability to perform tasks in a timely manner
• Ability to follow instructions
• Serving- It- Right certification is required
• Food Safe level 1 certification or higher an asset
• Experience in a similar role an asset
• Experience in a supervisory role in a high volume banquet/catering facility an asset
• Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and late nights
