Title of position

Bicycle Service Supervisor (NOC 72014)

Job duties 

• Supervising and coordinating the activities of bicycle mechanics engaged in diagnosing, maintaining, repairing, and servicing bicycles and e‑bikes.

• Training, mentoring, and monitoring mechanics to ensure high‑quality workmanship, adherence to safety standards, and efficient workflow. 

• Inspecting completed repair and maintenance work to ensure compliance with manufacturer specifications and company quality standards. 

• Supervising operations of our sporting goods and services shop and assigning daily tasks, preparing work schedules, and ensuring adequate staffing during peak periods.

• Providing advanced technical support, including diagnosing complex mechanical and electrical issues on bicycles and e‑bikes. 

• Overseeing customer service interactions, including greeting customers, assessing service needs, preparing repair estimates, and ensuring accurate communication of timelines and costs. 

• Managing inventory of parts, tools, and supplies; placing orders and maintaining stock levels for the service department. 

• Ensuring proper use and maintenance of hand tools, power tools, and specialized bicycle and e‑bike repair equipment. 

• Conducting pre‑ and post‑service inspections on the e‑bike rental fleet and ensuring safe operation standards are met. 

• Supporting retail operations by advising customers on bicycles, e‑bikes, accessories, and sporting goods offered by Sports Garage.

• Maintaining service records, repair logs, and documentation required for warranty or insurance claims. 

• Ensuring workplace safety, enforcing shop policies, and identifying hazards or maintenance needs within the service area.

Terms of employment

Full‑time, 30 hours/week

Expected Employment Start Date: As soon as possible

Wage

$36.35/hour

Skills requirements – Education and Work Experience

Education: 

• High School Diploma required

Work Experience:

• Minimum 3 years of experience as a bicycle mechanic in a reputable bike shop 

• Experience supervising or mentoring junior mechanics is an asset 

• Strong knowledge of e‑bike systems, diagnostics, and repair 

• Demonstrated proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and specialty bicycle repair equipment 

• Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment and manage multiple priorities
