Position Overview:The Business Analyst will be responsible for leading business requirements gathering, elicitation, analysis, and development of technology solutions that satisfy business needs. The position acts as the liaison among internal stakeholders, technical stakeholders and partners (e.g. vendors) to analyze, document, communicate and validate business and system requirements for key IT business initiatives. Continuous improvement of business processes, incorporating and integrating existing and emerging technologies occurs regularly. Engagement with stakeholders across multiple levels, from frontline to senior management is involved.

Job Description:
Major Job Functions:
  • Elicit business and technical requirements by workshops, questionnaire, surveys, site visits, workflow storyboards, business requirement documents, use cases scenarios and other modern requirement evolution methods (e.g. user stories, uml, etc.)
  • Document, record, and model various current and future states, including developing process, flow, and data diagrams
  • Assist with the interpretation of business requirements into feasible options and communicate these back to business stakeholders.
  • Ensure traceability of requirements from collection, development, and all the way through to testing
  • Develop and utilize standard templates to write requirements and specifications accurately and consistently
  • Foster positive stakeholder relationships and expectations through effective communication
  • Work with stakeholders (including vendors) to define and develop user stories, system/application scenarios, and acceptance criteria
  • Support Quality Assurance to define test strategies, create test plans, and test scripts to validate that test scope meets agreed to business requirements
  • Research, learn and adapt modern technologies, relevant industry standards and best practices
  • Broker a shared understanding on business issues, and agreement on the best solution given the business units need and the company's strategic goals
  • Produces business analysis documentation that is of excellent quality, which is easily understood by reviewers, approvers, and users of the material


Qualifications:
  • Advanced knowledge of the Business Analysis Body Of Knowledge (BABOK)
  • Experience in software delivery (net new and out of box) in medium to large organizations (Global Experience would be an asset)
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 software specifically Microsoft Word, Visio, Teams, and Excel
  • Knowledge of Azure DevOps or other user story management/software delivery applications (e.g. Jira, HPALM, Contour, etc.)
  • Knowledge of collaboration software such as SharePoint and Smartsheet
  • Curiosity, passion, and overall ability to elicit and delve deeper into business and technical requirements beyond the stated need
  • Ability to balance process improvement with need for technology improvements
  • Ability to document, record, and model various current and future states, including developing process, flow, and data diagrams
