Job Description:

If you have an engineering mindset and a passion for deeply engaging with Journey partners to fully understand and drive forward their goals, then the Core Platform's MCA Business Systems Analyst team is the place for you!

MCA's applications form the Book of Record for all aspects of personal and commercial business deposit and chequing accounts as well as registered deposit accounts and a Line of Credit product. This critical data is used by key banking systems at TD (e.g. Easyweb, Mobile, C3, S3) to deliver customer-centric information and services to technology and business partners.

The ideal candidate brings a solid IT background-preferably in Mainframe and APIs-exceptional communication skills to bridge Journey needs with technology solutions, and thrives in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment.

Primary Purpose of the Role

As a key member of the Pod Agile Operations team, you will lead Pod Intake Triage and be actively involved in partner requests for information and enhancements to support Journey-sponsored and Infrastructure initiatives. You will engage partners to achieve clarity for complex requirements which will assist the Pod to accurately prioritize and assign work. You will work in close collaboration with Journey partners, Product Owners, Architects, Software Engineers, and Quality Engineers to drive clarity, test, and support deployment. You may also participate in audit and application security requests, data mining/data changes and automation initiatives.

Key Accountabilities
  • Develop effective and efficient solutions by researching/analyzing current state system processes and defining technology solutions options / recommendations working closely with key technology partners.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to determine solutions, assess impact to existing work processes and systems, and how to manage the integration.
  • Translate business requirements into detailed functional specifications taking into account non-functional requirements
  • Capture and document the traceability of system requirements through design and development, testing, and deployment; ensure the acceptance criteria demonstrates the changes to systems that will meet stakeholder expectations.
  • Execute testing and translate requirements and use cases into test conditions and to validate expected results are achieved for product, performance, user acceptance, and operational acceptance testing.
  • Provide support/oversight and guidance in the delivery of technology requirements with focus on quality, reusability, scalability, and innovation.
  • Promote innovation by applying subject matter expertise to generate forward-thinking ideas as well as critical thinking to find opportunities for improvement.
  • May provide operational / process-related analysis and support to various extents.
  • Adhere to existing processes/standards including requirements management technology delivery practices and standards, and business technology architecture, escalating issues as required
  • Continuously enhance knowledge/expertise in own area and keep current with leading-edge technology trends/developments and develop expertise in TD services, applications, infrastructure, analytical tools and techniques that can contribute to effective solution development/delivery.
  • Continuously enhance knowledge of business domains and their products/services.
  • May support change management planning and activities, including those that ensure operational readiness.
  • Support implementation and post-implementation planning and activities.
  • Adhere to the TD code of conduct.
  • Participate fully as a member of the team, support a positive work environment that promotes service to the business, quality, innovation and teamwork and ensure timely communication of issues/ points of interest.
  • Support the team by continuously enhancing knowledge / expertise in own area and participate in knowledge transfer within the team and business unit.
  • Keep current on emerging trends/ developments and grow knowledge of the business, related tools and techniques.
  • Participate in personal performance management and development activities, including cross training within own team.
  • Keep others informed and up-to-date about the status / progress of projects and / or all relevant or useful information related to day-to-day activities.

Experience and/or Education

Required
  • Undergraduate degree or Technical Certificate.
  • 3-5 years of experience as a BSA or similar Business Analyst/Systems Analyst role.
  • Knowledge of Mainframe and API capabilities, limitations, and best practices. Hands-on experience preferred.
  • Proficiency in writing detailed user stories with acceptance criteria, using JIRA with Gherkin language and JQL to track tickets, and creating and maintaining documentation in Confluence.
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum/Kanban environments.
  • Proven ability to engage, enable and lead stakeholders to consensus on requirements and related issues/questions.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to perform root cause analysis for complex issues and propose effective solutions.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, presentation, and documentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and coach and guide team members within area of expertise.

Preferred
  • Experience in multi-org, enterprise-level environments.
  • Ability to influence stakeholders and drive alignment across technical and business teams.
  • Microsoft 365 Copilot/Github Copilot experience.
  • Business Analyst Certification.
