Overview of the opportunity

We are seeking college graduates whohave a strong interest in accounting and finance and are looking to launch their career in business. As an Associate you will be working as part of the KPMG audit team to deliver on a variety of assignments while continuing to develop your knowledge and skills along the path to registering in the CPA program. By intimately understanding each client's business, we convert information into insights to uncover hidden opportunities to improve client efficiency and performance. While gaining relevant practical business experience you will be supported financially with continuing professional education.

What you will do

As an Associate you will be part of an engagement team supporting audit assignments across a variety of industry groups. As part of an audit team, you will be involved in the planning and completion activities of an audit; in preparing audit working papers; and assisting with budget preparation and other project management components of an audit engagement. With the expectation of upholding a high quality of service, you will participate in client meetings, gain knowledge of the audit process and procedures, and expand your network of internal and external contacts.

What you bring to the role

You are a graduating student or alumni from a Business Administration Accounting College Diploma program. You may be thinking about obtaining your Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation down the road, but you don't have the necessary pre-requisites at this time or are still unsure if becoming a CPA is the path for you.** You possess advanced Microsoft Office skills, with a focus on Excel, and have knowledge of relevant accounting frameworks. You are highly motivated and a strong team player. You possess strong written and verbal communication skills, with an emphasis on attention to detail and accuracy, in a way that is open, honest, consistent and clear. Previous use of Tax Prep and Caseview programs would be beneficial.

**This position is NOT for candidates who are eligible to commence the CPA program in the next 24 months. Recruiting for CPA candidate roles occurs every spring and fall. CPA opportunities can be found by visiting kpmg.ca/careers.
