A career within Capital Markets Accounting Advisory Services, will provide you with the opportunity to be responsible for complex financial reporting issues around deals and other transformational events. You'll tackle client's needs with a solution oriented approach that creatively addresses complex financial reporting problems for high profile transactions and you'll have significant interaction with senior company management teams, bankers, lawyers and other advisers.What you'll create and do:
As a Manager, you'll work as part of a team of problem solvers, helping to solve complex business issues from strategy to execution. Responsibilities for this include but are not limited to: Support our Deals teams with accounting implications on specific transactions (i.e. buy-side, sell-side, valuations, restructuring);
Lead our clients through various accounting change projects including adoption of new standards and GAAP changes;
Assist and advise clients through corporate restructurings;
Assist clients through financial statement restatements, including support on comment letters from regulatory boards;
Lead clients through capital market transactions including IPO/go public readiness, and other market transactions (i.e. BAR Reports, pro forma financial statements);
Work with clients to prepare/review complex accounting calculations and to prepare/review financial statements and disclosures;
Coach others and encourage them to take ownership of their professional development and to be proactive in resolving issues that prevent effective team working;
Manage engagement economics;
Analyze complex ideas or proposals and build a range of meaningful recommendations;
Develop a perspective on key global trends, including globalization and how they impact the firm and our clients;
Focus on building trusted relationships; and,
Uphold the firm's code of ethics and business conduct
What you'll bring to this role:
An interest in upskilling for a digital world and technology trends, and openness to learning new tools and adapting how you work;
A demonstrated commitment to valuing differences, developing and coaching diverse teams, and ensuring diverse perspectives are heard;
CPA, CA or equivalent designation;
Prior experience at the Manager level in an accounting role with a focus on complex technical issues and transactions;
Excellent knowledge of IFRS and ASPE. Prior experience in IFRS 9, 15 and 16 transition is desirable;
Previous experience with US GAAP is an asset;
Excellent project management skills and ability to manage relationships at all levels within PwC and within the client's organization;
Strong Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc.) and an aptitude for technology and innovation are an asset;
The ability to build relationships and to integrate with client teams working under tight deadlines;
Strong analytical and problem solving skills and an ability to work through complex and challenging client projects;
Demonstrated ability to work in a multi-tasked, fast-paced and changing project-based environment with the flexibility to work overtime where client deadlines are tight;
Commitment to providing excellent client service; and,
Ability to work on multiple engagements and engagement types concurrently;
Bilingual proficiency in French and English is considered an asset.
