Job Description & Summary

A career within Capital Markets Accounting Advisory Services, will provide you with the opportunity to be responsible for complex financial reporting issues around deals and other transformational events. You'll tackle client's needs with a solution oriented approach that creatively addresses complex financial reporting problems for high profile transactions and you'll have significant interaction with senior company management teams, bankers, lawyers and other advisers.

As a Manager, you'll work as part of a team of problem solvers, helping to solve complex business issues from strategy to execution. Responsibilities include:

  • Work with the team and our clients to prepare complex accounting calculations, prepare quarterly/annual financial statements and complete reporting packages to foreign head offices
  • Support our Deals teams with accounting implications on specific transactions (i.e. buy-side, sell-side,valuations)
  • Lead our clients through various accounting change projects including adoption of new standards (i.e. revenue, leasing, financial instruments), and GAAP changes
  • Lead clients through capital market transactions including IPO readiness, and other market transactions (i.e. BAR Reports, pro forma financial statements)
  • Assist and advise clients through corporate restructurings
  • Assist clients through financial statement restatements, including support on comment letters from regulatory boards
  • Research technical accounting matters as required
  • Coach others and encourage them to take ownership of their development
  • Analyse complex ideas or proposals and build a range of meaningful recommendations
  • Develop a perspective on key global trends, including globalization and how they impact the firm and our client
  • Manage a variety of viewpoints to build consensus and create positive outcomes for all parties
  • Preparation and delivery of competitive proposals
  • Uphold the firm's code of ethics and business conduct

  • Requirements: 

  • An interest in upskilling for a digital world and technology trends, an openness to learning new tools and adapting how you work
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in an accounting role
  • Canadian CPA designation or equivalent reciprocal designation
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and IFRS (Prior experience in IFRS 9, 15 and 16 transition is desirable)
  • Excellent project management skills
  • Ability to manage relationships at all levels within PwC and within the client's organization
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Ability to work through complex and challenging client projects
  • Ability to be flexible and manage multiple projects
  • Excellent communication (oral and written)
  • To stay up-to-date with changing accounting regulations and industry practices related to clients' business
