Senior AssociateJob Description & Summary
A career within Capital Markets Accounting Advisory Services, will provide you with the opportunity to be responsible for complex financial reporting issues around deals and other transformational events. You'll tackle client's needs with a solution oriented approach that creatively addresses complex financial reporting problems for high profile transactions and you'll have significant interaction with senior company management teams, bankers, lawyers and other advisers.

As a Senior Associate, you'll work as part of a team of problem solvers, helping to solve complex business issues from strategy to execution. Responsibilities include: Work with the team and our clients to prepare complex accounting calculations, prepare quarterly/annual financial statements and complete reporting packages to foreign head offices Support our Deals teams with accounting implications on specific transactions (i.e. buy side, sell side,valuations)Support our clients through various accounting change projects including adoption of new standards (i.e. revenue, leasing, financial instruments), and GAAP changesWork as a team member to support clients through implementation of accounting policy changes and new accounting standards, specifically IFRS 9, IFRS 15 and IFRS 16Assist and advise clients through corporate restructuringsAssist clients through financial statement restatements, including support on comment letters from regulatory boardsSupport clients through capital market transactions including IPO readiness, and other market transactions (i.e. BAR Reports, pro forma financial statements);Research technical accounting matters as required by managersWork flexibly and respond promptly to ad hoc requests by clients
Assist in project management component of client relationships
Reviewing client contracts to determine what accounting treatment is required
Use straightforward communication, in a structured way, when influencing others and writing memos/reports
Develop new ideas and propose innovative solutions to problems
Use a broad range of tools and techniques to extract insights from current trends in business area
Uphold the firm's code of ethics and business conduct.
Requirements: An interest in upskilling for a digital world and technology trends, an openness to learning new tools and adapting how you work
Minimum of 3 years of experience in an accounting role Completion of CFE (Common Final Evaluation)CPA designation preferredStrong knowledge of IFRS, ASPE and US GAAPPrior experience in IFRS 9, 15 and 16Strong Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc.)Excellent communication (oral and written)Strong analytical and problem solving skills
Desire to learn and stay up-to-date with changing accounting regulations and industry practices related to clients' business
Excellent time management skills
