Position Overview: Reporting directly to the Property Facilities Director, the primary responsibility of this role will be to provide direction relating to the long term capital facilities plan for Finning (Canada). You will also provide specific, demonstrated people leadership, specialized industry insight and direction to multiple divisional areas, including both internal and external stakeholders.

Job Description:
Major Job Functions:
  • Have strong project management skills to successfully develop longer term facility capital plans, that align with our long term facility plan
  • Create and develop strategies that will support and maximizes the capital spend for all facility locations
  • Develop and manage external contractor relationships that will assist directly with delivering on our long term facility plan
  • Provide leadership and technical support to multiple work units as and when required
  • In conjunction with other key stake holders, the development and communication corporately of the capital allocation

Specific Skills & Experience:
  • 10 plus years relevant work experience & knowledge in Facility Management, (office) Services management or related discipline
  • Previous experience in facility maintenance software and capital planning tools
  • Gold Seal Certification, PMP, or CSI certification in Project Management or Contract Administration would be an asset
  • Significant technical knowledge of construction processes, procedures, materials, and equipment, preferably relating to industrial and commercial construction
  • Sound fiscal knowledge with extensive experience of budget preparation and management
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, administrative and computer skills required
  • Multiple years of people leadership with experience at an executive level
  • Demonstrated experience on strategy development and successful implementation of plans
  • Must be a highly motivated self-starter; able to work independently with minimal supervision
  • The ability to read and interpret various construction industry guides
  • Experience and specialized knowledge auditing industrial and commercial building systems and operational issues
  • Experience in managing procurement and/or tendering processes
  • Experience liaising with various construction related regulatory authorities.
  • Experience estimating, budgeting and scheduling construction and consultant projects
  • Travel will be required
