Job Description & Summary

A career in Sales and Marketing, within Internal Firm Services, will provide you with the opportunity to focus on positioning a distinctive PwC brand in the marketplace and drive long term revenue growth for the Firm. You'll focus on designing, developing, and implementing communication programmes and media events to promote and sell the PwC's brand and services as well as contribute to and evaluating our pricing strategies in the marketplace.

Our Sales and Marketing Operations team is client centric and strategises to distinctively position PwC's brand in the marketplace and facilitate long term revenue growth. As part of our team, you'll help with the team to report, maintain, and analyse data within customer relationship management systems.

Responsibilities

As a Client Strategist, you'll work as part of a team of problem solvers with extensive consulting and industry experience, helping our clients solve their complex business issues from strategy to execution. Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Proactively assist in the management of a portfolio of clients, while reporting to Senior Managers and above
  • Be involved in the financial management of clients
  • Be actively involved in business development activities to help identify and research opportunities on new/existing clients
  • Contribute to the development of your own and team's technical acumen
  • Develop strategies to solve complex technical challenges
  • Assist in the management and delivering of large projects
  • Train, coach, and supervise staff
  • Keep up to date with local and national business and economic issues
  • Continue to develop internal relationships and your PwC brand


  • The Client Strategist will use superior account management skills and act as an internal sales advisor to ensure all Sales Relationship Management (SRM) activities are organized and completed in a timely and efficient manner. The role will support the firm's Alberta Public Sector Team.

    Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

    Account Management:


  • Assist the Lead Partners on your assigned clients in driving the overall account strategy.
  • Manage the account planning process for each assigned client including a client needs assessment, related lead and opportunity identification, relationship mapping, and sales budget.
  • Organize and manage ongoing account meetings related to business development, including management of the client opportunity funnel and other reporting as needed.
  • Actively follow up on business development activities, leads, and opportunities with the client team, ensuring timely completion.
  • Support the execution of the firm's client satisfaction processes and surveys on your assigned accounts.


  • Sales Support:


  • Drive adoption of the firm's standard business development methodology and the use of sales best practices within your assigned clients.
  • Be a champion of the firm's CRM system, advocate for its effective use, and support practice staff with advice and assistance on best practices.
  • Monitor various public procurement portals to distribute RFP opportunities to relevant public sector internal contacts.
  • Provide reporting and dashboards in CRM (Salesforce) to Lead Partners on an as needed basis.
  • Coordinate and chair bid/no bid calls with the public sector team on relevant opportunities to ensure sales best practices are being followed.
  • Prepare presentations on key Alberta public sector initiatives and trends as required to present to internal stakeholders.


  • Proposal Support:


  • Assist in the management of proposal (RFP) responses for assigned clients, through the use of effective kick-off meetings, developing and managing the proposal project plan, and ensuring the completion of win/loss debriefs.


  • Industry Support:


  • Understand the Industry Marketing plan and support marketing activities that relate to your clients.
  • Work closely with the Marketing team to share client intelligence.
  • Attend relevant industry and PwC events, network with clients and targets, and build relationships.


  • Additional responsibilities may be assigned depending on the needs of the industries to which the Client Strategist is assigned.

    You bring to the role:

  • A successful track record in providing effective sales support, and understanding and driving client value propositions.
  • Previous experience with Account Planning and Sales best practices.
  • Previous experience in developing and managing proposals in competitive processes, leveraging best practices and effective propositions to drive an increased win rate.
  • Effective project management and organizational skills with a high level of attention to detail.
  • A proven ability to confidently build and maintain strong relationships at different levels within an organization.
  • A team player with a "whatever it takes" attitude.
  • Work well both independently and in a team environment.
  • Flexibility and the demonstrated ability to prioritize activities - be proactive with minimal instruction and stay focused in a dynamic, ever-changing environment.
  • A high degree of tact, diplomacy and professionalism.
  • Strong sense of initiative, continuously striving to acquire and develop related business knowledge.
  • Strong technical skills in MS Office, particularly in Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
  • Experience using Google Slides, Google Sheets and Google Docs is an asset.
  • Previous government/public sector experience preferred.
  • 3-5 years of experience in a corporate or professional services firm environment. Experience in sales or marketing with internal and external clients is desirable.
  • University or college graduate with a desire to pursue a career in sales, account management, marketing or pursuit management is preferred.
