Business Management and End User Services (BMEUS) department of WorkSafeBC provides an exceptional technology experience for our organization by delivering services that meet end-user needs for technology education and support and ensuring transparent and accountable decision-making through governance practices and policies.
The Business Management and End User Services (BMEUS) department is looking for a highly motivated, dynamic, innovative Co-op Student to join our team to help us strive towards our vision.

Where you'll work
At WorkSafeBC, we offer a model that combines the convenience of some remote work with the dynamism of working in one of our offices, based on the operational needs of the position.
In this role, you'll work three or more days a week in our Richmond office. For the first two weeks, please be expected to work full-time onsite.
On Day 1 in this role, you will get a chance to meet your manager and get acquainted with your team. You will spend time setting up administrative and technological essentials, and completing onboarding tasks, including security and payroll setup.
During your first week you will engage in a comprehensive onboarding program designed to equip you for success. You will be partnering and meeting with your manager to discuss your goals and align them with the team's vision. Additionally, you will learn how our department contributes to the overall business strategy and supports the organization's mandate. You will also work through the onboarding program alongside your supervisor for added guidance and support.
This role is ideal for an individual who is eager to step beyond their comfort zone. We are looking for someone with a detective mindset, strong motivation, and a passion for innovation. The right candidate will possess analytical and critical thinking skills, enabling them to propose ideas that enhance various processes and initiatives, as well as to explore new approaches to work within the department.

- Asset lifecycle concepts (request, procure, deploy, manage, retire, dispose)
- Data quality, reporting, and basic analysis techniques

- Real world IT governance, compliance, and operational support

Your daily responsibilities include:
- Perform data analysis including performing quality testing and validating data ingestion
- Assist the teams in analyzing business processes impacted by new systems or system enhancements
- Assist in documenting processes, standards and procedures
- Assist in developing training materials including how to videos for the services and asset management practices
- Support continuous improvement activities that expand and enhance the use of end user technology platform capabilities across the organization
- Assist the teams in troubleshooting system health
- Assist the team in developing simple request workflows
- Think strategically when reviewing business needs
- Analyze and demonstrate critical thinking to understand business processes at an enterprise level
- Demonstrate self-motivation by creating and executing plans
- Communicate and collaborate effectively with team member
Your background and experience
- Currently enrolled in an undergraduate degree program and majoring in either Business Administration with an interest in Technology or Technology programs with interest in Business Administration
- Demonstrated interest or aptitude in technology is required
- An eagerness to learn, try new things out and bring curiosity to the role
- Previous co-op or work experience in an office environment is an asset
- Previous exposure to research or analyst experiences are nice to have
