Alchemist Specialty Carriers Inc is growing again and now hiring for full time Company Drivers for local and long haul opportunities in both our bulk tanker, roll off and open deck divisions

Alchemist Specialty Carriers Inc (ASC), is a carrier of bulk liquid tanker services, dry vans, open deck trailers and roll off bins. ASC specializes in the safe, timely transport of petroleum products, chemicals, and hazardous material.

Qualifications
The successful candidate will possess the following qualifications

• 3 years Class 1 experience
• Mountain and Highway Experience
• Previous Tanker Experience Preferred – but willing to train the right reputable training school
• Provide proof of clear driving and criminal records
• Have competed Grade 12 or equivalent
• Follow written and oral instructions in English; complete written forms and documents in English

Specific Skills
• Transportation, loading and unloading of dangerous goods and petroleum products and various other cargos.
• Receive and relay information to central dispatch
• Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials;
• Record cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled and fuel consumption
• Relate and interact with others in the workplace, including co-workers and customers
• Communicate in the workplace - Including written, verbal, non-verbal (e.g., hand signals) communications
• Operate computer and electronic devices - Including routing, mileage and mapping software; GPS; cellular phones; radios; data-entry devices and tracking devices

Documentation Knowledge
Documentation knowledge and attention to details are critical when working with dangerous cargos. Transportation of Dangerous goods documentation experience is an asset and the successful candidate will be required to complete TDG, WHMIS and CPPI training.

The successful candidate will have experience with the follow system and documents

• Accident or incident reports; Trip reports; Trans-border CTPAT documentation;
• Inspection report (pre-trip, en-route, post-trip);
• Dangerous goods occurrence reports;
• Drivers Hours of Service Requirements
• Communication Systems Experience
• Operate GPS (Global Positioning System) and other navigation equipment
• Additional Skills
• Address customers' complaints or concerns; Professionalism in customer service; Mountain driving expertise


Security and Safety Requirements
• Valid driver's license; Driving record check (abstract); Drug test;
• Valid passport or Enhanced Drivers License for US border Crossing
• FAST Card Eligible
• Transportation/Travel Information
• Willing to travel cross-border; Willing to travel for extended periods; Willing to travel overnight;
• Perform pre-trip, en-route and post-trip inspections, oversee all aspects of vehicle condition and safety
• Ensure Cargo Securement and Protection
• Defensive and Responsible Driving Behaviors

• Adhere to all applicable laws, rules, regulations, policies and procedures (both governmental and fleet-specific)
• Interprovincial runs required
• Week-long periods on the road
• Extended periods of time in vehicle (driving and bunking required)
• Physical demands associated with periods of standing and sitting; bending, crouching, stooping; frequent lifting of moderately heavy items (up to 50 lb/23 kg)
• Mental demands associated with solo driving and extended periods of solitude
• Operate in all types of weather
• High level of distraction on urban routes
• High demand for accuracy, efficiency and safety
