Controller

Location: Calgary, B.C.

Employment Type: Full-Time (In Office)

Salary: $100K - $120K (dependent on experience

Our Head Office is in Delta, B.C. and we are growing to add another company in Calgary, B.C. Key Responsibilities

Financial Management & Reporting

-Prepare and oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.

-Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting in accordance with applicable accounting standards.

-Analyze financial results and provide insights to management.

-Manage the annual budgeting and forecasting process.

Accounting Operations

-Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger functions.

-Manage month-end and year-end closing processes.

-Ensure accuracy of financial records and reconciliations.

Cash Flow & Treasury Management

-Monitor cash flow, working capital, and liquidity requirements.

-Manage banking relationships and financing arrangements.

-Develop strategies to optimize cash management and profitability.

Compliance & Internal Controls

-Maintain and strengthen internal control systems.

-Ensure compliance with tax regulations, transportation industry requirements, and financial policies.

-Coordinate external audits and regulatory reporting.

Operational & Strategic Support

-Partner with operations leadership to monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), including fleet utilization, fuel costs, maintenance expenses, and freight profitability.

-Support business growth initiatives, acquisitions, and process improvement projects.

-Develop financial models and business analyses to support strategic planning.

Qualifications

-Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

-CPA designation required or strongly preferred.

-5+ years of progressive accounting and financial management experience.

-Experience in transportation, logistics, freight, distribution, or supply chain industries preferred.

-Strong knowledge of financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and internal controls.

-Proficiency with ERP systems, Quickbooks and Microsoft Excel.

-Excellent leadership, communication, and analytical skills.
