What You Bring:
  • Provide leadership, mentorship and direction of all QA/QC personnel
  • Oversee supervision of all visual inspections and NDE, including 3rd party subcontractors
  • Manage inspection, NDE and testing plans for new construction, repair work and alterations
  • Identify and develop solutions to correct inspection function deficiencies
  • Monitor training plan and matrix as required ensuring on-going compliance and staff proficiency
  • Develop and review Quality Control Standards to maintain all current certification
  • Identifies inputs into the quality planning and preparation of project quality
  • With a minimum of 5-7 years of related experience managing quality control
  • Proven track record in inspection methods with a strong focus on high safety standards
  • Ability to record, track, report deviations multi-task and prioritize
  • Accountability for hold-point releases once all Quality Management Systems functions have been completed and the equipment is ready to go into the next work stage
  • Manage construction processes, plant equipment, inspection and NDE personnel certification and Quality Management System internal/external audits
  • Oversee all documents, procedures and records are approved prior to use for the project.
  • Ability to anticipate, understand and respond to the needs of management and other clients to meet or exceed their expectations
  • Assist in the review of non-conformance reporting and the incident investigation management to determine root causes and corrective actions
  • Ability to clearly present technical concepts, identify issues and provide solutions to non-technical client and company representatives
  • Ability to chair and direct team and problem-solving meetings also host brain storming sessions
  • Must be able to devise and present code compliant solutions
  • Lead by example by demonstrating the importance of fostering a safety culture
  • Ability to ensure correct codes, standards, job specifications, project procedures, federal and provincial regulations are properly identified, correctly specified in detail, met or exceeded
  • Ensure all contractors and vendors are compliant to all Project Quality requirements

  • Responsible for compliance to ensure all calibration of instruments and certification or testing equipment, gauges, etc.
  • Source and employ accredited firms to conduct annual inspections and certification
  • Contribute to a positive safety culture with a target for zero incidents
  • Knowledge of safety programs. Must comply with site safety procedures/protocols as defined in the corporate Health & Safety Manual
  • Ensure the QC team has strong working relationship with safety team corporately and project level
  • Ensure all quality and testing procedures develop and are maintained in conjunction with Safety Team
  • Compliant with all safety codes and safe work practices
  • Good verbal and written communication skills, including advanced knowledge of AWS?? Welding Terms and Definitions. Advanced knowledge of welding inspection and related NDE methods (MT, PT, UT and RT) including ASME Sec. V requirements?

Operational Function - Frontline Daily Key Function
  • Work with project QC Team Leads to ensure operational Quality Compliance through established use of the Operational Checklist & Standard Operating Procedures
  • Manage the development and implementation of the Quality Management System for planning, fabrication, inspection, documentation and operations activities including
  • Plan duties within the QA/QC staff and related work schedules
  • Establish service standards for end users - internal or external
  • Identify and develop QA/QC personnel certification requirements and continuing education/training needs

Programs & Codes - Administration & Further Development:
  • Ensure that all quality programs are administered to provide effective compliance to meet or exceed all internal and external audit requirements
  • Manage and oversee project quality to ensure compliance to codes, standards, regulations, equipment specific specifications and Quality Management Systems requirements
  • Experience with the creation and administration of inspection planning, weld/welder tracking, RBI, FFS? And reporting programs
  • Developing and implementing risk-based inspection activities and processes,
  • Advance knowledge of qualifying ASME WPS and welder/welding operator qualifications, including local regulation requirements
  • Experience performing corrosion monitoring and API 879-1/ASME FFS-1 fitness for service (FFS) Analysis of pressure equipment

Bidding Support:
  • Experience in developing and monitoring of project QA/QC budgets
  • Provide costing information and direction to the bidding team
  • Provide guidance on procedure and challenges with specific scopes of work
  • Direct support for the initiation of the project squad check
