Position Overview: The Cylinderpack Technician is a member of the Salvage Department, with a focus on Cylinders as part of the overall Reman process.

Job Description:

Major Job Functions:
  • Responsible for inspecting, identifying needed scope of repairs and remanufacturing general industrial and Caterpillar connecting rods, pistons, liners, wrist pins, cam followers and valve mechanisms
  • Parts Identification/Sorting/Numbering
  • Parts washing/cleaning
  • Incoming (Typhoon) and final wash (Solvent Wash)
  • Basic OEM paperwork completion, Tagging and Filing
  • Visual inspection of Rocker arms, Bridges and basic salvage polishing/lapping
  • Surface Finish Measuring tool setup, use and handling
  • OD Measuring tool use and handling
  • Polishing pins and shafts including final QC inspections (with TL/designate checking all work)

**Candidate selection will be in compliance with the terms of the current Collective Agreement**

Specific Skills & Knowledge:
  • Able to read and use measuring instruments
  • Able to read and understand specifications
  • Capable of operating basic machines
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to work well with minimum supervision

Education & Experience:
  • Basic competency in a machine shop environment

  • This posting is for a static weekend shift scheduled Fri, Sat, Sun - 12 hours per day. The successful candidate will be required to complete training during a Mon - Thurs / Fri weekday shift and will move to weekends once they have sufficient experience.
  • Ability to lift and handle material weighing up to 40 pounds
