Job Description

12- month contract DevOps Specialist role designing, automating, and operating delivery infrastructure across a portfolio of digital transformation projects within a complex public-sector environment.

12-month remote contract (within Canada) with potential for 24 months in extensions
Active mandate to leverage AI and automation to remove manual processes and modernize delivery.

What & Why:
Our client is seeking a DevOps Specialist to design, automate, and operate delivery infrastructure supporting digital services across a portfolio of transformation projects. This hands-on role spans production operations, CI/CD pipeline development, cloud platform management, environment automation, observability tooling, and security practices, working across two to three concurrent projects in agile teams. You'll support early and frequent delivery, integration testing, and the adoption of DevOps best practices, with real room to lead on removing manual processes through AI-enabled automation.

Who:
Our client operates a modern digital service delivery function, partnering across multiple business units to design and deliver digital products, platforms, and services using human-centred design, agile methodology, and modern data practices.

You:
You'll bring the following experience and capabilities:

4+ years of experience with command line interfaces and scripting tools such as PowerShell.
3+ years of experience with cloud platforms including AWS, GCP, or Azure, deploying scalable solutions and optimizing data pipelines.
3+ years of experience with access tools such as SSH Clients and Remote Desktop, and basic security awareness including secrets management and least privilege.
3+ years of experience with research, analysis, problem solving, and documenting issues, solutions, and procedures.
2+ years of experience leveraging generative AI and agentic tooling, including prompt design, RAG, and critical evaluation of AI outputs for accuracy, risk, and hallucination.
1+ year of experience with networking tools such as DNS lookups, trace routes, and load balancing.

Compensation:
This role pays $85-95 per hour.
