Regional Fertility Program (Calgary) is currently looking for dynamic business professional to work alongside its highly experienced team of reproductive physicians, clinical and laboratory professionals to lead business development and operations at its state-of the-art reproductive care facility in the Northwest part of Calgary.   Reporting to the Managing Partner(s), the Director of Business Development and Operations works closely with a highly experienced senior management team to strengthen the overall business and operational performance of the Regional Fertility Program. With expertise in business management, the Director champions the development and implementation of the Centre’s strategic plan while working collaboratively with each department to support their objectives.   The Director is responsible for ensuring that policies, procedures, systems and resources are in place to effectively deliver reproductive care services that are patient-centred. The Director also provides guidance and leadership in the areas of finance, human resources, and facility management.

About Regional Fertility Program. The Regional Fertility Program (RFP) is a large, highly successful fertility treatment centre located in Calgary, Alberta, Canada.   RFP offers a full range of diagnostic and treatment programs for both male and female fertility disorders as well as for recurrent pregnancy loss.  Since 1984 the RFP IVF program has resulted in the successful delivery of over 14,700 babies.  RFP offers ‘state of the art’ facilities for its patients and strives to deliver an exceptional patient experience through its 70 plus multidisciplinary healthcare team.


The Director of Operations and Business Development has the following key responsibilities:

Strategic and Operations Planning: The Director provides expert analysis and business acumen to guide the clinical team in developing and implementing the strategic vision, mission and plans for RFP.  

Marketing and Business Development: The Director collaborates and works effectively with the leadership team (physicians, clinical managers, employees) to identify, define, and implement initiatives that enhance performance, improve growth, improve efficiency, and strengthen overall service delivery to patients.  In addition, the Director evaluates market conditions and patient feedback to develop and implement a comprehensive, patient-focused marketing and communications strategy.

Human Resources Management and Planning:  The Director has considerable knowledge of human resources policies, procedures and practices. The Director leads the human resources function to ensure effective human resources practises and procedures (e.g.:  compensation, health and safety, training) are in place and adhered to.

Financial Management: The Director oversees financial administration (billing, bookkeeping, accounting) and utilizes financial acumen to prepare budgets and advise RFP Partners on short and long term operational and capital expenditures. 

Facilities Management: The Director oversees all facility, IT, communications, and security infrastructure to ensure systems meet the ongoing needs of RFP. 


Master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA) with a minimum of 5 years in a business leadership or senior management role.  Candidates with an undergraduate degree in Business or related degree with at least 8 years of management experience may also be considered.  Previous experience in a health care organization will be considered an asset.
