Position Overview:

TELUS has a rare opportunity to grow the Alberta sales organization at the Director level. This role requires strong sales leadership and execution combined with a deep understanding of the Canadian ICT(Information and Communications Technology) industry, wireless markets, the competitive landscape and ICT economics. The successful candidate will balance the need to meet aggressive sales targets with a best in class client experience and TELUS' ability to execute profitably by collaborating with stakeholders across broader sales, marketing and operations.

Key Responsibilities:
    •Manage and grow a broad suite of wireless and wireline solutions within the region, own regional P&L and deliver on our strategic plan as defined by Marketing •Ensure close alignment between regional sales practices and national Marketing mandates •Develop and manage regional sales/business plans to direct sales initiatives across regional account managers/team members, practice leads, marketing (national) and solution development stakeholders to drive new and recurring revenue growth •Drive opportunity qualification, funnel management, proposal reviews and bid governance processes to ensure client value, proposed solution, pricing and TELUS profitability objectives are optimized •Help the client navigate complex ICT environments and broader end-to-end digital transformations •Provide regional market insight to marketing and operations •Orchestrate regional sales and operations collaboration to mitigate churn, grow revenue with existing clients •Balance national and regional sales and marketing needs


Qualifications:


Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
    •Demonstrated ability to shape customers' ICT vision and buying decisions at the CIO/COO/CFO level •Proven ability to build, develop and lead high performing teams in a fast-paced environment •Ability to balance the needs of both marketing and sales acting as a bridge between driving revenue growth, delivery capabilities and client experience •Advanced knowledge of business drivers, risks, benefits of outsourcing, outsourcing services marketplace, trends and standards •Ability to develop and oversee business and sales performance •Business acumen and technical aptitude to engage in CIO/CFO level conversations and shape clients buying/ICT vision •Student of the business with strong wireless and 3rd wave solution expertise an asset •Strong collaborator

Required Professional Certification/Designation:
    •Post-secondary degree •IT service provider and industry related sales certifications an asset •MBA is an asset

Required Experience:
    •Experience selling managed services and outsourcing services •Experience selling in a highly matrices sales environment •10+ years in a sales capacity in a technical environment •7+ years of experience building and leading an effective sales team •5+ years of experience in a telecom environment is an asset •5+ years of experience in a B2B sales environment
