Job Skills / Requirements
The Emergency Housing position with Paladin Security in Slave Lake requires a skill combination of superior customer service, consistent productive self-supervision and the willingness to learn and adapt to any situation that may arise.
The security guard will be located in a facility in Slave Lake patrolling the inside and outside of the building, performing access control, and assisting the facility staff. The security guard assigned to this profile will need top ensure the safety and wellbeing of the clientele and staff working in the facility. Security is to always use a soft approach with the clientele, and to use verbal de-escalation techniques.
The basic requirements for an officer to be tasked with the shelters patrol are:
- Employee Orientation
- Employee manual
- OH&S Orientation
- Recovery at work
- Slips, Trips & Falls course
- WHMIS course
- Customer Service Course
- Workplace Respect course
- Dealing with Persons with Mental Illness course
- Note Taking and Report Writing course
- Patrol Procedures
- First aid Level C with CPR and AED
- Valid Alberta Security License
This position is a high expectation position and the applicants selected for the task must understand their role. Reporting to the Client Service Manager, the guard is required to follow the current patrol procedures supplied to them. Great client relations play a large role in Paladin's continued success and need to continue to be of the utmost importance, starting with the Shelter guard as necessary. The security guard must use all of the necessary qualifications listed above to supply a quality service to the client.
