Position Details :

Position: Event Security Manager

Site: Downtown Halifax

Pay Rate: $24.00

This is a temporary contract for the month of June. Successful applicants may be considered for future permanent openings.

Managers are responsible for:
• Direct supervisor of supervisors and event guards
• Day-today management of site
• Handling of escalated complaints
• Directing employees to perform to the standards of Paladin's policies and procedures
• Ensuring employees have and retain knowledge of the site operations
• Ensuring their team is made aware of and understand any Paladin issued memo/announcement
• Ensuring contractual obligations are met - such as no time loss on site. Addressing lateness, absences, and covering shifts as needed
• Responding to all emergencies; taking command of the situation
• Ensuring the health and safety of staff as it pertains to training on Paladin's Occupational Health and Safety Policies and Procedures and reporting any incidents that occur during their shift
• Dealing with disciplinary issues that arise on site, including completion of meetings and paperwork.
YOU'RE A GREAT FIT IF YOU:
• Are able to stand for up to 12 hours
• Are able to walk and patrolling the area
• Are able to work outdoors in all weather types
• Have previous Supervisory or Management experience
• Standard/Intermediate First Aid & CPR - Level C (from a CSA-approved vendor)
• Ability to obtain a provincial Security License
• English (oral and written) fluency is a must

High School Diploma/GED

Certification Requirements (All)

Intermediate First Aid/CPR C

This is a Temporary / Seasonal position 1st Shift, 2nd Shift, 3rd Shift, School Hours, Weekends, Summers.
