Facility Maintenance Supervisor

Position Overview: Reporting to the Manager, Maintenance services, the Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for the effective supervision and coordination of inspections and repairs of all facility related equipment across Finning (Canada). The successful candidate will manage both regional and local vendors to ensure a standardized approach to service contracts, scheduled inspections and repairs. This includes planning, prioritizing, scheduling of the inspections. Thereafter, reviewing all inspection reports, identifying the deficiencies and following up repairs to completion.

Job Description:

  • Collect data from responsible branches on inspection and repair history of all facility related equipment
  • Review and prepare tender documents & other packages
  • Evaluate vendor quotations for validity and provide recommendations for revision or approval
  • Review inspection and repair documents for accuracy, completeness and adherence to scope requirements
  • Track and provide technical input/recommendations on inspection and repair reports
  • Using the CMMS program, maintain a history of all inspections and repairs
  • Develop and implement quality assurance measures for sustained improvement
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders and contractors to coordinate work access and schedule compliance
  • Verify vendor and contractor invoicing for compliance with contract terms
  • Investigate all reports of unplanned failures
  • Contact the appropriate vendors for prompt repairs
  • Review inspection and repair reports for accuracy and completeness
  • Follow-up on recommendations for improvement and ensure implementation.
  • Ensure accuracy and prompt processing of invoices.

  • 5+ years of leadership experience
  • Ability to read, understand and draft vendor contracts
  • Ability to read and understand detailed commercial/industrial construction documents
  • Exceptional supervisory, interpersonal and negotiating skills
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills with attention to detail
  • Highly developed analytical and problem solving skills
  • Strong time-management skills while being responsible for multiple tasks
  • Excellent verbal, written communication skills
  • Proven expertise and advance knowledge of inspection and repair techniques of industrial and commercial building systems
