Functional Area Lead - Woodroom

Slave Lake, AB

The Functional Area Lead – Woodroom is responsible for monitoring the woodroom teams to safely maintain a constant flow of wood into the mill in order to create quality strands for the green bins while keeping all equipment maintained and in good working order. The Functional Area Lead is responsible for setting and meeting aggressive targets in safety, quality, production, uptime, efficiency and spending.

  • The successful candidate will have previous supervisory experience in an industrial, manufacturing environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal and supervisory skills and a minimum of Grade 12 education (or equivalent) are required for this position.
  • A good working knowledge of OSB manufacturing, experience with continuous process, operating large industrial machinery, and working with computer spreadsheets will be considered definite assets.
  • Strong profit orientation and excellent communication skills are essential.
  • Ability to stay organized in a fast paced environment.
  • Grade 12 diploma or equivalent
  • Experience working with computer programs – Microsoft office (excel, word, outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Proficient with maintenance management systems, such as JD Edwards considered an asset
