About Arctic Bay

Arctic Bay is a scenic and majestic area occupied for nearly 5000 years by Inuit nomads migrating from the west. Today, Arctic Bay is a lively community with a population of 900 located in the northern most region of the Borden Peninsula on Baffin Island in Nunavut, Canada. The natural and unspoiled landscape is an ever changing sensory experience, ripe with natural wonder around every corner. In addition to its natural beauty, the area is steeped in the rich cultural traditions of the Inuit people. They are resourceful, creative, and most of all, friendly and hospitable, always ready to teach others about their ancient traditions. Despite being Canada’s third most northerly community, Arctic Bay is very accessible via air and cruise ship.
