Position Overview: Reporting to the Manager, Global Enterprise Support - Finance, this individual will have extensive interaction at all levels of the organization and will be responsible for delivering value-added solutions utilizing BlackLine products to simplify, standardize, and automate the financial close. The ideal candidate is a motivated self-starter, able to prioritize tasks, has excellent communication skills, and brings significant experience in corporate finance.

Job Description:

Major Job Functions:
  • First point of contact for BlackLine issue-resolution.
  • Create and maintain new Users, Chart of Account, Data Sources, Validations and Pass Rules in BlackLine, ensuring appropriate approvals are in place and that information and hierarchies are synchronized among BlackLine, M3, Longview, and CODA/DBS applications and the Global Finance Data Model.
  • Coordinate and ensure process documentation is standardized and reviewed each year for accuracy.
  • Provide system training and on-going system support.
  • Facilitate the development, execution and documentation of test plans and scenarios to ensure quality.

Specific Skills & Knowledge
  • Understands and adheres to Finning policies and procedures, including safety.
  • Must understand database software tools for sequels such as TOAD and Tableau.
  • Experience in any of the following systems is an asset: BlackLine, Infor Smart Office M3, SAP, BPC, Longview, CODA/DBS.
  • Systems implementation and training experience is desirable.

    • Must demonstrate professionalism in all business communications and interactions.

    • Must have strong written and verbal communication skills.
    • Must be able to communicate in technical and business terms.

  • Well-developed analytical ability:
    • Must have excellent analytical skills and ability to draw conclusions from the data and present to a wide and varied group of stakeholders.
    • Must seek out and direct process improvement, including root cause analysis.
    • Must have strong problem solving and persuasion skills.
    • Must be highly proficient in Excel.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage time, prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.

Education & Experience:
  • Bachelors' degree in Finance or related degree, professional designation (CPA, CMA); or MBA
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in finance/accounting with a general knowledge of IFRS, general accepted accounting principles and systems.
