Position Overview: Job Summary:
Reporting to Global Online Commerce Leader the position of Product Manager is directly accountable for customer and market success of the assigned products, services and solutions.

Market success requires a balanced approach of:

The Product Manager also monitors market share, adoption and profitability of the solutions.

As the global owner of a solution, the Product Manager acts as the subject matter expert for Finning's current websites and digital platforms. He/she also provides back office assistance to support groups with in-depth product, application and market/competitive knowledge that helps differentiate our product(s) and value proposition relative to our competitors.

The role will be accountable for implementing relevant new Digital Platforms, maintaining existing platforms and websites and working to continuously improve these platforms and websites across Finning and Finning's different business units. This position requires an innovative and influential leader to drive the transformation and introduction of Finning's digital offerings. In particular, this role will focus on driving business results by leveraging technology investments to create value within the business and for the customer. He/she will be accountable for ensuring the solutions and services are defined in deep collaboration with key business partners and customers and then implemented in order to meet regional/global business needs, while aligning to a global digital approach.

Job Description:

Major Job Functions:
  • Work as a member of the Online Commerce team to successfully define, plan and develop a given product or digital platform
  • Work with the regions to understand business and customer requirements; using this information then build and iterate the solution
  • Work with regional partners to build the launch strategy, roll-out plan, support framework and hand over the solution to be executed by the individual regional operations
  • Support the regional operational digital marketing organizations via in-depth product knowledge, application guidance and competitive positioning
  • Serve as the ultimate product and solution owner working directly with strategic customers and partners in putting together website and digital platform offerings
  • Collect, analyze and prioritize regional needs from the regional online commerce organization(s) and work with regional counterparts to determine global prioritization of requirement backlogs to ensure correct prioritization and capturing of market specific opportunities
  • Nurture existing supplier relationships and search for new partnerships that broaden Finning's customer solution portfolio
  • Participate in industry association events and Caterpillar dealer advisory groups as applicable
  • Work with the regions to create and deliver the regional Digital Platform Annual Operating Plan (AOP) that meets the needs of the business while aligning with the Global AOP
  • Develop, manage and execute the Digital Platform and Website road map and delivery against the annual operating plan
  • Work with regions and counterparts to prioritize initiatives and development based on regional feedback and voice of customer
  • Establish and maintain an excellent working relationship with Caterpillar, strategic business partners, key industry bodies and leaders in the online commerce field
  • Safety leadership and focus for the organization

  • An in-depth product and market knowledge of existing CMS (content management system) technologies and web technologies as well as emerging trends that may be applicable to Finning and our customers
  • Preferably familiarity of construction equipment, industry and respective applications and services
  • Ability to see opportunities to modernize and streamline existing processes internally as well as with customers
  • Confident in their ability to work across an organization to influence others and build commitment to a recommended direction while managing multiple internal and external stakeholders
  • Ability to build close working relationships with the business in order to collaboratively identify new business opportunities and generate strategies for addressing future market scenarios
  • Skilled in strategic thinking, business & technical planning

Education & Experience:
  • Undergraduate Degree in a related field
  • At least 8 to 10 years' experience managing global websites and Digital Platforms and/or senior commercial roles with a minimum of six years leading teams
  • Experience in B2B customer engagement and technology roll-outs
  • Experience in at least mid-sized multinational companies with a track record of demonstrated high performance leadership skills and attributes
