From upstream and downstream oil and gas to renewable energy markets, we partner with clients across the full project lifecycle-designing, engineering, and innovating for a low-carbon future.

As a Stress Engineer on our Energy team, you'll join a powerhouse group of innovators, problem-solvers, and world-builders who thrive on tackling complex challenges across renewable energy, power generation, and energy-modernization projects. You'll be at the forefront, leading projects in a senior technical role, collaborating with various disciplines to ensure we meet our mechanical stress engineering goals. You will support multiple types of clients (Independent Power Producers, Municipal Electric Utilities, Investor-Owned Utilities, Contractors, and Developers), address their challenges, and implement power grid systems of the future. In doing so, you will get the opportunity to work on a wide range of power plant technologies including biomass, geothermal, hydrogen, renewable natural gas, fossil fuel, carbon capture, battery energy storage, and hydro. Here, your expertise won't just support projects-it will energize entire systems and play a key role in building resilient, future-ready solutions that advance our clients' missions and strengthen the communities we serve.

This position can be located in any of our Canadian offices, with preference for our BC and AB locations.

Your Impact
  • You will perform stress analysis of piping & equipment systems.
  • You will generate comprehensive technical reports, offering insightful recommendations to enhance designs and address issues effectively.
  • You will demonstrate exceptional client engagement, effective problem-solving, clear communication, passion, and outstanding technical knowledge both within the team and on-site.
  • You will lead and guide both local and remote team members with their work.
  • You will design piping supports and support the development of specifications and standards.
  • You will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team and develop strong client and internal relationships.
  • You will apply industry guidelines, codes, and standards criteria to formulate design recommendations.
  • You will ensure engineering designs meet applicable codes and standards (e.g., ASME, API, CSA, etc.).
  • You will prepare and seal technical reports summarizing the results of the analyses.

The Skills That Set You Apart
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Professional Engineer (P.Eng) designation.
  • Minimum of 5+ years of stress engineering experience in an EPC Environment.
  • Previous experience in leading teams and projects as a stress engineer.
  • Previous experience with Energy related projects ideally in Oil and Gas, Power Generation, Mining.
  • Experience with Rotating Equipment are an asset.
  • Familiarity with Ceasar II. Autopipe. FE Pipe and Nozzle Pro
  • Experience in multiple projects with tight deadlines.

Compensation

AB, BC, NT, NU, SK & YT: $89,800 - $118,900

MB & ON: $81,900 - $112,800

NB, NL, NS, PEI & QC: $81,100 - $107,800
