Based in Edmonton, the TELUS Investment Management team internally manages a portion of the trust funds established for the TELUS defined benefit pension plans. We are responsible for the development of investment strategies, analysis of a broad range of investment opportunities and the execution of investment transactions consistent with the policy and strategy. As an Analyst, you will make a positive contribution to the performance of the TELUS equity portfolios and the total fund contributing to the team's objective of meeting or exceeding policy performance benchmarks.Here's howBy:
•Working with the Canadian Equity Team to perform fundamental research for the Canadian Equity portfolios and presenting the findings to the team
•Generating investment ideas and monitoring relevant macroeconomic indicators
•Reviewing corporate news and public documents, and consolidating and analyzing information from company financial statements and presentations
•Offering your continuous improvement lens to enhance the investment process
•Working collaboratively and cohesively supporting fellow team members when required
•Leveraging your capacity to take initiative and ownership of issues and make decisions quickly to solve problems
•Proactively seeking opportunities for learning and growth as there is potential for this role to become full-time permanent Qualifications:You're the missing piece of the puzzleWith:
•Your passion and desire to grow your career in investment management, including enrollment or willingness to enroll in the CFA program
•An accounting background including thorough understanding of financial statement analysis
•Your solid understanding of fundamental analysis and valuation and interest in equity markets
•Your strong research, analytical and problem-solving skills and attention to detail
•Your ability to manage multiple deliverables, deadlines and goals in fast-paced, ever-changing, and sometimes ambiguous environment
•Your proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word and PowerPoint
•1-3 years of work experience
•An undergraduate degree in Business, Accounting, Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science or related discipline Great-to-haves:
•Experience constructing financial models
