Our Team delivers the Projects to support the Switching & Transport services including last mile transmission to cell sites, TELUS' fibre footprint and On-Net capabilities, IP Interconnect, IP trunking, SIP trunking, and PRI service on our Core IP Voice Next Generation Network (NGN).

As an IT Project Manager II, from start to finish, you'll have the energy and drive to ensure every detail, step and stage is completed. Of course, to make this all happen, you'll communicate with clarity and confidence to lead, inspire and inform stakeholders so they can do their part. When challenges arise, you'll overcome these by seeking to understand, thinking creatively, communicating, collaborating, negotiating and escalating when appropriate. Under your leadership, teams will deliver all projects on time, on budget and within scope, and elevating our brand as a Future Friendly solutions provider in the marketplace.

Here's how...
    As an Expert in the Field, you'll:
      •Provide project and people leadership, including coaching and developing team members •Define the project scope clearly to project team members and directing them towards project objectives •Manage roadmap and communicate project details and updates
    As a Business Partner, you'll:
      •Build and analyze business cases to extract requirements and determine project deliverables, scope statements, and quality metrics •Conduct cost/benefit analysis to mitigate risks and pursue value opportunities
    As a Proactive Planner, you'll:
      •Develop project schedule •Define, negotiate for and secure required resources •Create and implement risk plans •Track and monitor projects milestones and costs, and address trends that are heading in the wrong direction
    As a Collaborative Relationship Manager, you'll:
      •Cultivate collaborative relationships and trust with various stakeholders and groups from across the organization •Resolve issues and conflicts arising from competing priorities, change and ambiguity to drive confidence across all project teams
    As a Creative Innovator, you'll:
      •Challenge the status quo, have the curiosity to ask why, and inspire others to share new ideas •Take risks and introduce new approaches and create new best practices
    As an Engaging Communicator, you'll:
      •Communicate key messages, requests and updates with clarity and tailored to a diverse range of cross functional teams and various levels of leaders •Make formal presentations with confidence to a various stakeholders


You're the missing piece of the puzzle...

    •The ability to define and measure key performance indicators specific to project deliverables •Strong understanding of project management methodologies, principles and practices •SAP knowledge including a strong application in developing and managing project CAPEX and OPEX budgets •Familiarity of older Telco voice switching technologies, such as the DMSxxx and GTD5 products, in conjunction with the latest generation IP SIP based access switches like the Zhone MXK and Tier 5 voice switches such as Genband's/Ribbon's C20 product set •Knowledge of voice based service types such as: POTS, Multiline, Hunt Groups, PRI, BRI, DID, Centrex, CPE PBX's, and DSL •Experience of managing GPON & OPON networks, expertise of expanding Fibre infrastructure directly to cell sites, homes and buildings •Knowledge of future solutions like the connected home, smart cities, Health & industry applications •Understanding of Central Office Building infrastructure and the decommissioning of access devices, routers, frames, bays, ironwork, environmental controls, and other Telco type devices •Expert working knowledge of MS Office suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and MS Project to create presentations and detailed project schedules •5-7 years of experience managing multiple, complex projects concurrently and leading project team members •5 or more years of Telecom experience

    •A university degree in Computer Science or Engineering •A PMP designation or equivalent designation •Milestone Management: Ability to work with large project teams (20+ participants) under tight time constraints and deadlines •Cost Management: Comfortable with simultaneously managing multiple large million dollar+, multi-year, projects with multiple critical paths and parallel work flows which are at different stages of execution •Reporting & Tracking: Experience with projects which report to the senior leadership team and have assertive people with their own visions of milestone completion dates and who sometimes can seem to be making unreasonable demands
