Methanex currently has an exciting career opportunity for a Laboratory Technician to join our team in Medicine Hat, AB.

In this role, you will be responsible for analyzing methanol product, as well as water treatment, in-process and environmental samples to ensure quality control, and expediently report results.

Our ideal candidate will have an undergraduate degree in Science (with Chemistry as a preferred discipline) or a post-secondary diploma in Chemical Laboratory Technology plus 5 years of related laboratory experience.

Laboratory experience including exposure to chromatography, experience with volumetric flasks, pipets, and automatic pipets, as well as experience with solution and standard preparation, is required and experience in the chemical manufacturing industry is preferred. 

You will also have experience with quality programs, such as ISO 9001 and ISO 17025, have knowledge of product analysis quality control, and will have completed quality audit and laboratory-related health, safety, and environment training.

You must also have a demonstrated ability to keep accurate and organized records and proficiency with Microsoft Office suite of programs. Experience with a Laboratory Information Management System (LMIS) and training with statistical software are assets.
