Position Overview:

Coaching & Learning Solutions is looking for an experienced instructional designer and learning content developer to join our Development team. In this role, you will be using your strong communication skills to collaborate with subject matter experts to create impactful instructor led courses and digital learning experiences. In addition, your expertise will help us drive further innovation and continuous improvement to the learning experiences and information we support our TELUS team with.

How does this drive business success? Learning content creation is the backbone for a strong learning and development experience for our far-reaching audience across BC and Alberta. As a Learning Specialist, you will create accessible and impactful learning content that drives behavioural change and skill adoption to help us reach our organization's strategic goals.

Reporting into the Manager, Development, this position is accountable for the creation and ongoing maintenance of learning content creation within our team. You will:
    •Create instructor led, eLearning and digital learning content in collaboration with our stakeholders, subject matter experts, and peers on the team •Complete critical content updates to courses in our catalogue and to our digital learning content (video, eLearning, graphics, and text content) •Create engaging labs and activities for facilitator driven face-to-face and virtual courses •Work in partnership with your peers to drive innovation within our various learning content formats

Qualifications:


What YOU Bring:
    •You will have a Bachelor's Degree or higher - preferably in Education or a related degree •The ideal candidate would have between 1-3 years of experience as a learning professional with expertise in:
      •Instructional design •Adult learning principles and techniques •Collaboration with subject matter experts •Microsoft Office and G Suite applications •Adobe Creative Suite software (with a focus on Photoshop and Captivate) •Final Cut Pro video post-production software •Video filming •Graphic development
    •It's a given that you will have excellent communication and collaboration skills and the ability to think the language of many technical and non-technical audiences •Proven knowledge in content development using recognized methodologies is essential •It's essential to have a strong understanding of classroom training best practices, visual design fundamentals and strong technical writing skills •Successful candidates would have a track record of managing multiple projects from start to finish •To be truly successful in this role, and at TELUS, you will need to be a master of change management, time management and the ability to manage shifting priorities •If you have the innate ability to influence people that you have little or no authority over, you will really enjoy this role •Underpinning all of this is a real desire to put the customer first •You have natural curiosity and are a lifelong learner •If you are consistently looking for new ways to do things, we would like to chat with you
