What- the Role: We are seeking a Loss Prevention Engineer who will be responsible for identifying, assessing, and quantifying risks of economic loss that could arise from property damage.  The new Engineer will inform decisions on risk retention and risk transfer, and will also be responsible for leading the internal loss prevention program to ensure the company has appropriate and reliable risk control measures in place to mitigate economic losses. We are seeking an intelligent, curious, driven, and well-rounded professional who takes pride in producing top quality work and who enjoys collaborating with a variety of people across all departments of an organization. Who- the Candidate:  We are looking for engineeringinsurance, and/or operations professionals who are personable communicators, and who have the drive and interest to learn the company’s business inside-out. Detail-orientation and an analytical mindset are paramount in this role, as is a calm, cool, and collected work style. The new Loss Prevention Engineer will embody the company’s core values. 

  • Post-secondary in a related field- an Engineering degree is preferred but not required.
  • At least 5 years’ relevant work experience, with an engineering or operational background.
  • Experience with fixed fire protection systems is a major asset. 
  • Experience in assessing risks associated with asset management – or with auditing (assessing) operational practices in a high hazard manufacturing environment.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
