About the Role

BG MachineWorks is growing fast and now has opportunities for Manual Machinists to join their team in Delta, BC. 

This is a full-time position that will see you working 8 hour days from Monday to Friday with flexible start times. 

In this role, you will be responsible for operating conventional mill and or lathe machines and for producing high-quality re-work as regulated by Transport Canada and Standard Shop procedures.

More specifically, you will be responsible for:

  • Operating lathe/mill and/or grinding machines as within your scope of education and qualifications and with all safety precautions in place
  • Changing and setting cutting tools
  • Adjusting feeds and speeds for maximum efficiency
  • Measuring and inspecting parts to ensure dimensions are within tolerance
  • Working within very close tolerances
  • Reading, studying and interpreting engineer drawings, blueprints, manuals, specifications, charts and tables

To be successful in this position you will ideally have 5 years of experience working with manual production machines. A combination of education and other experience will also be considered. Previous experience working in the aviation industry will be considered an asset. 

You will need to have a strong mechanical aptitude, as well as strong communication and organizational skills. You must also be able to work independently, with minimal supervision.
