Job Profile Summary
This is a key role for the Asset Management business (including Canada, US and Global functions) supporting its risk framework, which reports to the Vice President & Director, Business Governance & Portfolio Oversight. The candidate will be responsible for:
- Lead oversight activities by working closely with business leads, 1B subject matter experts, Asset Management Risk Marketplace and 2A functional leads, to make sure business lead features are properly prioritized, timelines are proactively managed, and their delivery is following the enterprise standards and change governance best practices (Change Risk Assessments, NBPA Forms, US Intake Forms, Preliminary Risk Evaluations, Change Governance Envelope, Risk Acceptance Memo)
- Act as the privacy designate for the assigned product group within the Asset Management Journey
- Work closely with assigned product owners to make sure all risks, impediments and decisions are properly maintained in JIRA
- Collaborate with the various areas of the business to obtain in-depth knowledge of its operational risks and identify areas of focus and improvements;
- Support risk reporting activities as part of the team that prepares regular updates to the various risk committees established to govern/oversight the asset management business
- Support audit requirements as deemed appropriate for the areas or expertise
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

- Develop a deep knowledge of business risk operations, controls and systems;
- Lead/own the oversight activities related to implementation of various business lead features, fulfilling the required enterprise and asset management risk management/oversight processes
- Collaborate with business owners, journey/platform and product owners, change governance leads, and other Wealth/enterprise partners to assure all business requirements aspects are fully addressed as part of solutioning and testing prior to implementation
- Participate in deep-dive type of activities performed regularly by control partners to proactively identify opportunities for improvement related to risk management processes
- Work closely with stakeholders to address roadblocks in delivering solutions to critical initiatives
- Provide counsel to the business on improving the efficiency, accuracy, quality and relevance of operational risk monitoring processes
- Provide recommendations and reporting to Business Governance & Portfolio Oversight leaders on prioritization of various initiatives based on regulatory deadlines but also on most efficient path to reach target state
- Acts as a team player and contributes to the continuous improvement of risk management, client servicing and productivity within the group
- Support the various reporting cadences on business risk initiatives related to asset management business
Qualifications/Skills/Experience:
- Experience in or knowledge of the investment management business
- Strong leadership, persuasion and communication skills
- Relevant experience in project management/change governance
- Ability to assess the big picture while demonstrating attention to detail
- Superior organizational and time management skills
- Good analytical skills and attention to detail
- Ability to think critically and comfort with challenging the business
- Experience in dealing with control functions
- Strong knowledge of MS office suite
Specific Educational Requirements/Accreditations:
- Bachelor degree or equivalent
- Project Management certification an asset
- Risk Management certification an asset
- Exposure to control functions an asset
