Reporting to the Program Manager, Renew Operational Systems, the Manager, Maintenance Technology Delivery, RACE21™ is responsible for the successful delivery of a variety of maintenance renewal technologies and improvement projects across Teck's operations globally. Projects will drive a significant increase in predictive maintenance capability and maintenance process digitization. The position provides leadership to a multi-year global project portfolio, which may exceed $50 million!

Being part of the RACE21™ team, you'll be leading the charge of a company-wide renewal of technology and infrastructure - a high-tech transformation of mining into the next generation!

Responsibilities :
  • Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures
  • Coordinate the definition, planning, delivery and operational readiness of a complex portfolio of maintenance technology projects across Teck's operations globally
  • Lead all aspects of project budgets and forecasts as well as the allocation of resources between projects within the portfolio
  • Build and manage a team of contract technology professionals, and establish partnerships with strategic suppliers to meet delivery and sustainment objectives
  • Develop and cultivate relationships across all operations and corporate offices using contacts to facilitate alignment of project objectives with RACE21™ program strategy and objectives
  • Improve delivery efficiency and effectiveness via continuous monitoring of core metrics, key performance indicators, and other critical success factors
  • Apply organizational change techniques to improve adoption of new technologies
  • Work with sustainment teams to develop and execute operational readiness plans ensuring effective transitions to operations
  • Support purchasing teams in negotiating for products and services

Qualifications :
  • Bachelor's or post-graduate degree in Computer Science, Computer/Software Engineering, or a related field
  • Ten years of increasingly senior level experience delivering and supporting maintenance technologies
  • Strong breadth and depth of knowledge in digital maintenance technologies such as condition monitoring platforms, vehicle communication busses, IoT sensors, asset management systems, and associated technologies. With additional knowledge in maintenance and reliability business processes, concepts, and terminology in mining or a related industry
  • Comfortable with a high degree of autonomy in an environment of fast paced change and ambiguity
  • Proven leadership capabilities, including the ability to motivate, coach, and mentor employees
  • Excellent program and project management skills and strong knowledge of business analysis techniques. Including excellent influencing and negotiating skills
  • Strong dedication to customer satisfaction and able to maintain positive relationships with business partners and strategic suppliers.
  • Strong analytical capabilities and problem solving abilities
  • Ability to work strategically and collaboratively across departments
  • Proficient in English. Spanish would be an asset
