Our client is a Vancouver-based retailer with a successful history and continuing growth. They are actively seeking an experienced, accountable and detailed CPA to join their growing company as the Manager of Financial Reporting. This is a rare opportunity for an experienced finance professional to join a fantastic family-style organization and lead a team. The role is focused on providing accurate financial reporting to the executive leadership team.

Location: Richmond, BC

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and head all financial reporting, KPIs and year-end statements and develop strategies to improve the lead time
  • Provide up to date guidance and concise analysis to the executive leadership team
  • Develop financial statements in line with external and internal requirements
  • Manage and assess all reporting documentation ensuring all working papers are submitted in a timely manner
  • Provide support to the organization in relation to auditing and general information queries
  • Support the executive leadership team in implementing new GL structure
  • Effectively lead and provide guidance to junior team members

Requirements:

  • CPA designation in addition to a Diploma or Degree in a related discipline
  • 6 + years of experience in the financial sector with at least 1 year in a similar position
  • Previous experience leading and mentoring a team
  • Business acumen coupled with a high motivation to continuously learn
  • Strong working knowledge of the financial planning processes
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to multitask quick changes priorities with a high level of confidentiality
  • Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel and PowerPoint in particular)
