Here's the impact you'll make and what we'll accomplish together

As the Manager of Technology Strategy, you will leverage your people and project leadership to lead a team of 20 to 25 Construction Managers & Project Managers towards the successful implementation of TELUS' 4G & 5G networks within Alberta (AB). Also, as the Wireless Implementation Manager for AB, you will ultimately be responsible for helping to develop our 5G build plans as well as ensuring all wireless projects are delivered within scope, on time and on budget.

    •Direct, develop, coach, mentor and motivate a team of TELUS professionals •Lead implementation projects throughout the acquisition, design, build, and commission process •Accountability for construction management activities including civil site design, vendor management, tender approvals, site construction and installation, safety and maintenance •Manage capital budgets including planning, forecasting, and reporting •Manage operational budgets including creation, forecasting, monitoring and developing cost saving measures •Manage program financials in accordance with corporate financial policies and tools •Communicate and interact on a regular basis with key stakeholders and supporting teams such as real estate, engineering and operations to manage risk and remove roadblocks on projects •Lead regular meetings with stakeholders on resolving implementation issues and variances, and develop action plans to manage changes or issues on projects

    •Post-secondary degree •Valued for your project and civil construction management experience •Deep insight of capital management •Commended for your people leadership, up to 10+ employees, and ability to coach and develop others while also being able to take coaching themselves •Expert at effectively managing contractors and vendors for project delivery •Skilled in construction standards, contract management, vendor management and project management principles •Respected for your ability to communicate with many stakeholders at many levels both within and outside of TELUS •Talented at delivering complex projects within scope, quality, time and budget •Recognized as a self-starter with ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks, including potentially competing/conflicting priorities and time pressures •Poised with a strong sense of urgency and drives issues to closure •Knack for:
      •Problem solving and troubleshooting •Negotiation and conflict resolution •Interpersonal, organizational and presentation skills •Business acumen and customer-orientation
    •Expert at Microsoft (MS) Office such as Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint

    •Engineering degree •Knowledge of SAP •Knowledge of construction law •Telecommunications industry knowledge
