Position Overview: Are you passionate about marketing and finding new ways to grow business? Do you consistently think from the customers' point of view?

Reporting directly to the Director, Marketing Insights, you will apply your in-depth understanding of marketing analytics and your ability to synthesize it to build and deliver meaningful presentations back to the business. Your work will determine the right questions to answer and build meaningful recommendations to our Marketing and Product Managers, enabling them to put the customer first and improve our business.

You will play a key role in measuring and analyzing customer data from our CRM system, understanding lost sales and other competitive market data. You will also be generating business reports to arm Finning's Sales and Marketing teams with the right information to grow market share, and working with key stakeholders to ensure internal needs are being met.

Job Description:
Customer Data insights:
  • Using current and historical customer data to develop meaningful insights into how to improve future business outcomes
  • Developing lead / compelling reasons to call for our sales staff through the our CRM data


Reporting & Analytics:
  • Responsible for building visual reports and storyboards that give insights to Sales and Marketing, Product Managers to develop new sales and marketing strategies
  • Provide visual reports / storyboards and analysis to measure the effectiveness of the sales funnel and sales territory management
  • Compile data / scorecards on customer metrics and adoption of key customer solutions
  • Provide adhoc analysis to product managers to support in sales strategies and to garner support with Caterpillar
  • Using Robotic Process Automation (RPA) and other tools to automate the creation and delivery of reports


Project Initiatives:
  • Work on teams will be a key part of this role.
  • Providing analytical support in key initiatives in the area of sales excellence
  • Working with business subject matter experts to unearth key findings that lead the organization forward


Stakeholder Management:
  • Work with key stakeholders in the business to understand where we have a specific opportunity to gain, sustain market share or develop a market that didn't otherwise exist
  • Ensure internal customer needs are met (Marketing, Product Managers and Sales)
  • Capturing Voice of the Customer (VOC) through surveys, lost sales reports and field research
  • Support Product Managers to tailor sales strategies and provide recommendations for marketing campaigns
  • Responsible for effective work environment which contributes to achieving business goals and objectives
  • Represent the company in an ethical and professional manner, and maintain confidentiality

Education & Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field
  • 5+ years' experience producing and presenting actionable market insights
  • 5-7 years related business analysis & support experience in a complex environment
  • Significant experience in sequel and data queries
  • Experience with online/web analytics and the development of reports, metrics and dashboards using tools such as Tableau and other leading applications
  • Experience working with Senior Managers to both understand business needs and present recommendations
