You will report to the Manager, TV Systems and Applications, to support our best in class and quickly growing Business TV service. You will be part of a dynamic team dedicated to Optik TV and customer excellence.
To do this, you will ensure that the Business TV application is always available, responsive, and provides the highest quality TV experience. You will stay at the forefront of industry trends with respect to monitoring, alerting, and data analysis, while having the opportunity to satisfy your creative side by working with developers and operations team members to improve the service. Your vision, inspiration, and organization will deliver new capabilities and improve the customer experience to drive subscriber and revenue growth and most importantly, satisfied customers.

•Provide hands on systems administration and technical consultation for the operation of the Optik TV (Windows) middleware platform, focussing on Business TV
•Support 24/7 365 shift rotation
•Work independently and in a cross functional team environment
•Plan, deploy, and support projects for new initiatives, growth, and sustainment
•Support day to day operations and evolving technologies, utilizing best in class change management standards
•Actively participate in the Agile methodology of software and service development
•Embrace DevOps practices
•Analyse system/application designs and implementations
•Conduct reviews, evaluations, and risk assessments

•Windows 2008 R1/R2 and Windows 2012 Server technologies
•Redhat UNIX Server technologies
•Hands on experience with Monitoring and Alerting functions, with Splunk and other tools
•Virtualization Technologies (Hyper V/VMware)
•LAN/WAN, TCP/IP, Multicast and Unicast traffic
•Active Directory & Identity Management
•PKI and Certificate Services
•Large scale, high availability services and applications
•Load balancing and clustering
•Systems methodologies/tools for troubleshooting (packet sniffers, debuggers)
•Advanced/superior technical and analytical skills; requires judgment in making and owning technical decisions
•Advanced Ability to lead and collaborate with a variety of diverse groups and technical teams (internal and/or external)
•Ability to develop and foster positive relationships with team members
•Ability to build consensus in team environments and manage conflict while striving for shared goals and objectives
•Ability to mentor junior team members and aid in their development
•Ability to make decisions with imperfect information

•Degree in Computer Science or Engineering
•Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist Certification considered an asset
•CISCO Certification considered as an asset
•Splunk Certification considered as an asset
•Minimum of 5 years of equivalent experience in the IT industry displaying progressive responsibility and achievement in a large scale environment
•Demonstrated experience in a telecommunications environment
