A key leader in Client's Digital Plan - Build - Run operating model, the Midstream analytics Platform Program (MAPP) and Integrated Business Planning (IBP) Technical Lead is an exciting opportunity to partner with a growing and transforming business to advance key strategic efforts for the company. Reporting to the Program Steering Committee, you will leverage domain knowledge and technology expertise to shape and maintain the technical vision for Client within Client's' MAPP and IBP Program. You will play a pivotal role as the primary point of technical accountability for Client's' MAPP and IBP Program, responsible for shaping and guiding the development of key initiatives and ensuring they align with our organizational goals.

In this role you will be responsible for technical leadership and executing initiatives in an exciting and strategic program of work. The MAPP and IBP Program is a collection of two related efforts. One related to the buildout and maturity of key data sets and application development efforts to improve the overall use cases of key Midstream data, and the other related to driving further accuracy of Client's' midstream financial outlook and budget process through driver based process and digital enablement. They are both important effort spanning multiple unique and inter-related initiatives that require consistent technical, functional and vendor engagement to optimize constraints and deliver value. In addition to acting as the key technical leader on this program, this role will involve on-going engagement with the broader Digital operating model, championing our Architecture Governance Processes and Project Delivery Methodology, and ensuring consistency of digital services in support of the Program. You will work closely with functional lead(s) and vendor partners to deliver value to Client and have direct accountability to a senior leadership steering committee who will support you in driving the realization of the Program's vision.
What you'll be doing:
    • As a visible champion and promoter of our core values, you'll actively engage with your digital team members and business partners, "rolling your sleeves up" to achieve results.
    • You'll help our Midstream businesses transform by leveraging technology to accelerate value delivery across the enterprise.
    • You'll ensure regular Digital alignment with your business stakeholders across our plan - build - run operating model, ensuring broad understanding of business strategies, activities, drivers, requirements, and system enhancement demands.
    • You'll be accountable for key tasks in our project delivery methodology and architecture governance review process, ensuring that our architecture function has clear understanding of changes to our environment and key decisions made, and that our project resourcing is supported through risk-based delivery management.
    • You'll act as the key accountable technical lead for Client's' MAPP and IBP Program, partnering with functional leaders and external partners to oversee critical initiatives and managing technical interdependencies, constraints and acting as Digital's representation to advance the strategic priorities.
    • You'll support the management & prioritization of business needs and manage demand within and constraints on technical resources within the program of work.
    • You'll partner with our outsourcing service providers, ensuring the delivery of Digital services across the program realizes value and is consistently managed.
    • You'll proactively support processes for risk identification and mitigation across the delivery program, ensuring continuous improvement in our Digital risk posture
    • You will provide technical leadership in the development, implementation, and maintenance of relevant applications as it relates to program initiatives, ensuring they are efficient, scalable, and reliable.
    • You will work closely with business units and our third party service providers to understand their requirements, translate them into technical specifications, and develop effective solutions.
    • You will guide program resources create and maintain technical documentation, user guides, and training materials for the program of work.

    • Business Knowledge: Understanding of the WGL culture, current systems ecosystem, current business processes, and industry landscape and trends.
    • Data-Driven Decision-Making: Ability to analyze data, assess performance metrics, and make informed decisions to achieve desired outcomes.
    • Risk Management: Identifying and mitigating risks associated with transformation initiatives
    • Deep Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with relevant tools, technologies, and methodologies related to business transformation.
What you must have:
    • Bachelor's Degree in an Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and/or related experience
    • Minimum of seven (7) years of related experience working with Microsoft Fabric and Palantir.
    • Extensive project and program management experience
    • Experience working with and managing 3 rd party vendor support resources
    • Knowledge and/or experience working with both waterfall and agile delivery approaches.
    • Expertise with Integrated Business Planning toolsets (Anaplan, OneStream, or similar competing products), Allegro and JDE would be considered an asset.

Where you'll be working:
This position will be located in our Calgary Office, with the expectation that you will be onsite four (4) days per week. Some travel may be required.
