The MCE team also drives corporate energy waste reduction best practices, resulting in a reduced and more sustainable environmental footprint for TELUS.

This Network Planning Manager II will have a diverse portfolio of work; including infrastructure planning, outages and major failures analysis, energy management and waste reduction. Our team's ability to approach current processes and programs with a continuous improvement mindset, is paramount to the reliability of the TELUS network.

Here's the impact you'll make and what we'll accomplish together

As a member of the MCE Planning, Standards & Project Management Office (PMO) organization, you will be an integral part of the Strategic Planning team and act as the key liaison between the TELUS community of users of power and HVAC resources, and the Tactical Planning organization. You will take a data driven approach to the development of mid and long term business plans to ensure that the Network environments are aligned with all of TELUS' needs, while ensuring maximum reliability.

    •Sought out for your HVAC planning expertise used in establishing the roadmap of mechanical elements that supply cooling and ventilation to the network spaces and their supporting areas, e.g. power rooms •Noted for your collaboration with other planners in order to optimize the network spaces for telecommunications use including the delivery of cooling to areas and cabinets with varying densities; use and develop capacity planning tools •Precisely collect relevant information of all users of space, power & HVAC resources; establish communication channels and utilize capacity planning tools, in order to proactively develop and maintain an updated view of all users' needs •Respected for your ability to support stakeholders with site selection and solution, i.e. local vs. central cooling; ensure stakeholders are well aware of current infrastructure conditions, benefits and risks •Regarded for the exceptional development of site roadmaps and taking a 36 to 60 month view, with consideration of multiple drivers such as growth and sustainment, removals, risk mitigation and strategic initiatives •Known for partnering with the Tactical Planning team in support of the seamless implementation of the strategy, and taking every opportunity to provide guidance to the development of the annual plans; this role will continually analyze feedback on progress and issues •The Strategic Planner is accountable for a group of sites and/or region and given the opportunity to occasionally prime strategic initiatives, i.e. NFV, that will impact multiple buildings and regions


Qualifications:


You're the missing piece of the puzzle
    •Minimum of 5 years of working experience in design and/or planning of mechanical systems •Confident presenter backed by strong oral and written communication skills •Recognized for your interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to work as a contributing member of a high performing team as well as your ability to work autonomously •Noted for your organization, planning and financial acumen •University undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering •Being eligible to be accredited as Professional Engineer (P.Eng.)

Great-to-haves
    •Depth in working experience in data center environments •Current working knowledge of power and its application in mission critical environments •Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation
