As a Network Specialist II, you will be responsible for Data Centre Management and support for internal corporate DC in Edmonton.
We have two data centres you will support by monitoring and managing environmental and report to the appropriate teams. You will provide incident, problem and change management for network and customer services in accordance with TELUS MCE and customer processes, including data and/or voice. You will ensure critical uptime support for TELUS IDCs. You will manage condition power and identify how it impacts the data centre.

What YOU will do:
•Provide technical and process support to internal departments and/or external customers
•Respond, resolve and/or escalate network and/or client issues within contracted time frame
•Proactively engage next level support teams as appropriate
•Will consult with internal and/or external customers and peers to review outages, remedial changes, customer caused network issues, etc
•Engage TELUS vendors and/or upstream partners by providing constructive feedback to effect positive changes and network reliability
•Participate in planning, coordinating, and implementation of project requirements which may involve providing input into the technical design
•Consult with internal and/or external customers, peers and/or vendors to review major outages and trends and recommend service upgrades
•Assist in the development of Business Cases for capital or OPEX budgets
•Lead adherence to change management processes
•Develop and maintain documentation and information, e.g. network diagrams, typologies, contact information, etc
•Provide technical training to support teams to enable individuals to support new product & service introductions Qualifications:What YOU Bring:
•Intermediate knowledge and understanding of: Who is TELUS?

•Advanced Excel Skills
•Intermediate/strong technical and analytical skills
•Requires judgement in making and owning technical decisions
•Understanding of basic financial concepts
•Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skills (English and/or French) and effective presentation skills
•Intermediate ability to collaborate with a variety of diverse groups and teams (internal and/or external) to effectively introduce and implement change in the work place
•Presentation, process understanding and gap analysis
•Systematic troubleshooting methodology, written and verbal communications, time management, prioritization
•5+ years of network related/5+ years Data Centre experience
•Professional accreditation or certification:
•University degree or College diploma in Engineering, telecom or IT, and/or equivalent combination of experience and education
•2 or more Vendor Certifications at the entry level (or higher)
