The Content Support and Implementation team offers a high level of exposure to a diverse range of always challenging and ever rewarding opportunities while working on leading edge technologies. Comprised of passionate specialists with a propensity for ongoing success, we are responsible for the development, operational readiness and tier 3 support of TELUS content collection and delivery solutions for Optik TV, Pik TV, Optik on the Go, and the TELUS Wholesale TV offering.
As the newest member of our team, you will work alongside this highly collaborative group of team members, as well as several strategic vendor partners. As a member of the Content Support and Implementation team, you will utilize DevOps principals to discover, evaluate, implement and support solutions related to our next gen OptikTV solutions. Your contributions will directly impact our ongoing pursuit to unlock video quality enhancements while galvanizing collection and delivery models designed to improve overall service availability while subsequently driving Likelihood to Recommend (L2R).
•Work with a team to identify opportunities where improvements can be made related to technologies used to collect and distribute video related content and services with automation and analytics as key outcomes
•Review and deliver solutions based on TELUS standardization and planning teams to ensure all solutions are implemented correctly and have an operational model surrounding it
•Support the continued development of our network level monitoring methodology and standardize on the applicable solutions required to provide seamless visibility for multiple services from point of collection to the customer
•Ensure technical designs are architected to be flexible, scalable, maintainable, and open in TELUS' n-tier environment
•Support planning, design, deployment, operations, and project delivery within designated timeframes and budgetary allocation
•Assist your team in developing proactive measures, processes, practices, and changes to support customer services and to resolve network/content delivery related issues Qualifications:You're the missing piece of the puzzle
•Excellent comprehension of Internet Protocols (IPs): IPV4 and IPV6 including but not limited to Transmission Control Protocol (TCP)/IP, Internet Control Message Protocol (ICMP), User Datagram Protocol (UDP), Multicast, Hyper Text Transfer Protocol Secure (HTTPS), Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP), Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP), Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) protocols, Internet routing, and firewalls
•Experience reviewing business needs, comparing solutions, analyzing data and recommending system/solution to enhance business and operational outcomes
•Ability to produce accurate, clear, and concise documentation.
•Ability to architect and design projects tools and process' with automation in mind
•Has a familiarity of scripting languages and tools
•Ability to prioritize and communicate to multiple stakeholders
•Experience with creating, managing and fulfillment of comprehensive test plans
•Confidence in exercising judgment required to effectively make and own technically strategic decisions
•Bachelor of Computer Science, Engineering degree, or Technology graduate and/or equivalent combination of experience and education
•Experience working with video encoding technologies and compression formats used for live and file based video delivery
•Working knowledge of Internet Protocol television (IPTV) and over the top (OTT) protocols, adaptive and progressive formats
•Familiarity of content delivery network (CDN) and Origin Server operations and standards, concepts, and network architecture
•Define, review, and implement alarming parameters to ensure ticketing systems can be leveraged for providing notification of potential faults and immediate customer facing issues
•Provide technical consultation, guidance, and support for Optik TV Operations and associated business units to assist with meeting and/or exceeding service delivery objectives
•Actively demonstrate an adherence to TELUS change management processes and practices
•Plan and coordinate installation of new hardware and software production environments including patches and releases
•Identify and enhance operational support tools and network monitoring solutions
•Create and deliver presentations to peer groups, vendor partners, and senior management team members that will influence the evolution of content related solutions and services
