As a Student Pavement Engineer, you'll support pavement engineering projects across Alberta and British Columbia, contributing to the planning, analysis, and delivery of road and highway surfacing strategies. This role offers hands-on exposure to field investigations, data analysis, and technical reporting while working alongside experienced engineers on projects that shape safe, reliable transportation networks.

Your Impact

You will:

• Assist with analyzing pavement condition data, traffic information, and historical pavement performance to support surfacing strategies.
• Support planning and coordination of site visits across multiple jurisdictions.
• Participate in site visits to help collect pavement condition, geometric, and traffic volume data.
• Contribute to the preparation of surfacing strategy reports in alignment with provincial specifications and requirements.
• Support the development of technical reports, presentations, and project documentation.
• Assist project managers with progress tracking and reporting.
• Support the preparation of design drawings, specifications, and cost estimates under the guidance of licensed engineers.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary pavement engineering team members to help achieve project goals.

The Skills That Set You Apart

You bring:

• Current enrollment in a civil, geotechnical, transportation engineering, or related university program.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with an interest in pavement engineering.
• Very good technical report-writing abilities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and PDF-xChange Editor; familiarity with CAD software is an asset.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• A well-organized, enthusiastic approach suited to a fast-paced consulting environment.
• A valid driver's license and willingness to travel short-term within Canada for project work.
• Commitment to participating in required training and adhering to WSP health and safety requirements.

Compensation
AB, BC, NT, NU, SK & YT: $24.00 - $32.00 per hour
MB & ON: $23.00 - $31.00 per hour
NB, NL, NS, PE & QC: $22.00 - $30.00 per hour
