ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY 

Methanex is currently seeking a Planning Coordinator to join the team in Medicine Hat on a full-time basis.

In this role, you will be responsible for the detailed planning and scheduling of routine maintenance and urgent or emergency work, assigning and communicating work to applicable departments, and facilitating the organization and procurement of contractors to maintain necessary equipment.

You will also be responsible for planning and scheduling all re-certification of tools, heavy duty equipment, and fire water equipment as set out by standards while following and maintaining the corporate budget as directed.

To qualify for this role, you have a Red Seal Journeyman Certificate in Millwright, Instrumentation or similar discipline plus a minimum of 10 years of related trade experience. A minimum of 5 -7 years of experience in plant maintenance is required. 

You will also have familiarity with maintenance planning and scheduling programs (such as Primavera P6) and demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office. Experience with monitoring and reconciling monthly budgets is also required.

This role is well suited to someone who is extremely organized and detail oriented with strong time management and prioritization skills. You must also have strong communication and interpersonal skills. 

Your exceptional troubleshooting and decision making skills will serve you well in this role, as will flexibility and a willingness to work in a team environment. Comfortable with ambiguity, you are able to thrive in a dynamic environment.
